This is the go to external GPS antenna for any of the Garmin range of chart plotters. It will give you precise location and heading accuracy even at slow speeds. This will be needed if your chart plotter doesn't have direct view to the sky. It is often needed when flush mounting the head unit under a hardtop or when installing the head unit inside your yacht or launch.
